In March 2011 Dart Services, Brian Ford and Steve Sharp, as keen members of the Federation of Small Businesses; and in partnership with Job Centre Plus, began the Clevedon Enterprise Club.(The first such venture between the FSB and JCP in the UK)
The Enterprise Club format came out of the Governments “Big Society” idea, where people who are out of work and may be considering starting a small business or working for themselves can come to the Enterprise Club on the second and third Friday morning of every month. The Club begins at 9-30 and runs until 12-30.
The sessions are run by volunteers, who are already self- employed, or running their own business; so members are hearing the facts from those directly involved.
At each meeting a different subject regarding starting your own business from: ….. if it’s best to be a Sole Trader or Limited Company, or Partnership, Developing Business Plans, Basic Book Keeping, Marketing and Sales, Networking, PR, Getting Paid, Finding Funding and other areas, are investigated, questions answered, and pros and cons discussed
The sessions are friendly and easy to follow and if members need more one to one support out of Club meetings, this can be arranged.
If you are considering starting a business, or becoming self employed and would like to attend our Enterprise Club, or if you are already trading and would like some help in an area of your business, or even to volunteer to help us, giving a talk, or taking a session, we would be pleased to hear from you, contact Steve Sharp at 01275 799 777 or steve@dart-digital.co.uk
